Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BlurIt mobile application ("the App") developed and operated by Quentin Dommerc ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Overview
BlurIt is a photo editing application that allows you to blur faces, text, and other regions in your photos. The App processes all images locally on your device and does not upload your photos to any server.
2. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
3. Free and Pro Tiers
BlurIt offers a free tier and a paid "Pro" tier:
- Free: Includes face and text detection, Gaussian blur, manual tools (brush and rectangle), share extension, and unlimited usage. Exported images include a BlurIt watermark.
- Pro (one-time purchase): Includes everything in the free tier plus all 8 blur styles (frosted glass, pixelate, black bar, color fill, swirl, emoji cover, noise), per-region customization, and watermark-free exports.
Pro is a one-time purchase that does not expire. There are no recurring fees or subscriptions.
4. Purchases and Refunds
All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment terms, refund policies, and billing are governed by the respective store's terms:
To request a refund, please contact the respective app store directly. We do not process payments or refunds ourselves.
5. Your Content
You retain full ownership of any photos you edit using the App. We do not claim any rights over your content. You are solely responsible for the photos you choose to edit, share, or export.
You agree not to use the App to:
- Process content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
- Circumvent legal requirements related to image handling or privacy
- Create deceptive or harmful content
6. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle (or rather, don't handle) your data.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy or completeness of face or text detection
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
While we strive for high-quality detection and blur rendering, we do not guarantee that all faces, text, or sensitive information in a photo will be detected or fully obscured. You are responsible for reviewing blurred images before sharing them.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Quentin Dommerc shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.
Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any).
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Quentin Dommerc from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in France.
